Where were you in the seventies and the eighties? If you are like most people you associate different times of your life with the songs you listened to and the movies you watched. For some of us even the thought of a song or movie can bring memories rushing back. For others, we need to actually hear the song or watch the movie, and then there are those people that fall in between – this is where the majority of people fall. They simply need a reminder of the song or movie.
Marketers of vintage t shirts are doing a great job of creating shirts that remind us of days gone by. It seems that no matter what your style, taste, or personality is (or was), you can find a shirt that seems to have been customized just for you. Many of the funny vintage t shirts depict characters from major movies of the past. This includes characters like ET®, and the shark from Jaws®.

It is not necessarily that the pictures on the shirts are always funny, but in some cases it is the saying that is included and in others it is simply the memories that the pictures take us back to. We cannot help but to smile. But of course, many of these shirts are intended to be humorous.
When you think about it, funny tshirts are an awesome idea. To start, t shirts of any kind are inexpensive in comparison to other shirts. They allow the wearer an opportunity to be comfortable because, after all, t shirts are probably the most comfortable type of shirt you can wear. And t shirts that have sayings and/or photos on them provide a way for the wearer to say something about himself.
Perhaps the most important thing about funny t shirts is the fact that they make people smile and therefore are often conversation starters. With all that going for them you have to admit that these shirts are wonderful. You may be wondering why you don’t own more of them.
Back to the original question of this article; you probably remember disco balls and old time rock ‘n roll? As for movies, several scary movies became popular during that time. The Internet was beginning to become accepted as commonplace. And for many, beer was the ‘drug’ of choice.
Times have changed and so have we. Every generation feels that. That’s why it is always fun to look back on old times and reminisce. No matter what was going on when we were younger it seems that times were simpler then. It’s not uncommon to hear, “If I knew then what I know now…,” but few of us actually finish that statement. Perhaps that is because in reality we wouldn’t change a thing. Our past is what made us who we are today and that is why reminders of the past are so special.
