Play Stuff

Toys are things manufactured or designed on purpose for children’s play. Children’s toys are not only for the purpose of playing but they also help in learning. They help them to determine their individuality, their bodies grow tough, and occasionally they discover relationships, and put into practice skills they have need of as adults.

Toys are more than just simple pleasure; the way that they are used overwhelmingly influence many spheres of life. Toys serve many purposes for both human beings and animals. They offer amusement while satisfying an educational responsibility. Toys for children stimulate creativity and improve cognitive behavior. They aid in the improvement of mental and physical skills which are essential later in life.

Simplest toys of all are trains and a set of simple wooden blocks are also one of the most excellent toys for budding minds. Andrew Watkins, marketing director of Mega Brands told a Business Daily that, “They help develop hand-eye coordination, science and math skills and also increase creativity.” Other toys like jackstones, marbles and balls serve similar purpose in child growth, permitting children to use their bodies and minds to gain knowledge of spatial associations, cause and effect relationships, and an extensive variety of other skills as well as the ones Mr. Watkins mentions.

Certain toys, such as toy soldiers, gotz dolls and barbie dolls, are repeatedly professed as being more adequate for one gender than the other. It has been reported by researchers that, “Children as old as 18 months exhibit gender-stereotyped play toy choices”. Playing with toys that are stereotyped for the opposite sex sometimes results in negative situations from piers, play mates or parents.
