Human growth hormone is a protein hormone of about 190 amino acids that is synthesized by cells called somatotrophs in the anterior pituitary growth hormone is also of considerable interest as a drug used in both humans and animals . somatropin is also know as synthetic growth hormone extracted from human pituitary glands biosynthetic human growth hormone replaced pituitary –derived HGH for the rapeutic use in the U.S and else where .

HGH

Somatotropin is a hormone that is produced in the in the human body and excreted into the blood by the somatotrope cells of the interior pituitary gland. There are both direct and direct effects of growth hormone on the human body .

• Direct effects: they are the results of growth hormone binding its receptor on target cells fat cells for example growth hormone receptors which stimulates them to break down triglyceride and suppresses there ability to take up and accumulate circulating

• Indirect effects: they are mediated by a insulin-like growth factor which is secreted from the liver and other tissues in response to growth hormone.

Some of the effects are:

1. It increases calcium retention
2. It increases mineralization of bones
3. Increases metabolism
4. Help in protein synthesis
5. Decreases protein degradation
6. Helps to repair damage cells
7. Increases glucose transport
