The Job of Finding Diaper Cakes

The girls at work asked me to get a diaper cake for a baby shower gift for a co-worker’s baby shower.  I asked them if it was part of my job description and they swore up and down that it was.

I thought about it and said sure, how hard could it be to go to the store and get one.  I set aside a couple hours the next Saturday and headed out to several of the baby stores in town.  I went from store to store, not finding one at all, not even an ugly one.  In between stores I kept thinking, I’d find one at the next stop, but no such luck.  I found lots of baby shower gifts, some I just fell in love with, but no diaper cakes.  I came home six hours later, exhausted and disappointed.

On Sunday afternoon, I knew I had to do something, but what? I needed the diaper cake for the baby shower by the next Saturday afternoon.  After calling a few of the girls from work, I decided to get online and just see If I could find a store of any kind locally that carried the much needed diaper cake.  Again, nothing locally that I could go look at and bring home.  I really needed that baby gift.

I gave up and laid down for a much needed nap.   I figured I’d just have to tell everyone I couldn’t find one and do something else.  I tossed and turned with disappointment and just couldn’t get to sleep.  I got back up and headed to the computer one more time hoping to find a miracle.  Well, a miracle I found.  I came across lilbabycakes.com.  I was shocked and amazed at the beautiful diaper cakes and baby gifts they offered.  They had fifteen diaper cakes to choose from and offered to custom make one if I wanted.

I read all of the testimonials, one by one and as I read them, I was satisfied that lilbabycakes.com was the place I needed to order my diaper cake from.  I knew my co-worker was having a boy, so that narrowed it down to blue, green or yellow.  After looking at all of the diaper cakes, I really like one more than all the others.

The Helping Hands Boy Five Tier Cake had about 110 pampers in two sizes, a Gund teddy bear named Brighton, a rattle, a paci with clip, 2 burp cloths(Clothes Airers – A Trick of the Light) and Johnson and Johnson travel items.   When the diaper cake arrived, it was wrapped in white tulle and ribbon.  It was in a sturdy cardboard box, which allowed the diaper cake to make it to me all in one piece.  They shipped it the next business day and I received it in plenty of time for the shower.  My co-workers were thrilled and so was the mom to be!
